I am pleased to share a brand new track from the sessions for the new album! It is available as a free download now, and will be available on the New Media Recordings compilation at the Austin shows next week. If you like it, share it with a friend. Enjoy!
Austin Shows During SXSW
I’ll be performing five non festival shows during the week of SXSW in Austin. You may find details about to all of the performances here.
Some good news…
111 Bands Added to 35 Denton Lineup! from 35 Denton on Vimeo.
I’ll be headed up to Denton in March to play this year’s “35 Denton” festival!
Some news…
Sat January 14th I will be playing at 7th Haven in Fort Worth along with Darrin Kobetich and Curtis Heath from Theater Fire to help raise funds for a little girl named Maddie and her family who could certainly use all the help they can get. The show takes place from noon until 3 p.m. and is part of a massive bake sale and auction. For details visit this link.
I’m pleased to report that work on the new album has been going incredibly well. 2011 was a tumultuous year (to put it mildly), but at least some storms have now passed. James Talambas and I have been tirelessly working and reworking tracks for what I feel is a great collection of songs. I hope that I will be able to get this album into your hands by late Spring of this year. Along with the album will be a series of tours throughout the U.S. and Canada. If you’d like to see me in your town feel free to drop me a line and I will see what I can do. For now I’m planning on visiting Austin TX during the week of their SXSW festival with some of these recordings in my hand.
In other news, last summer I had the pleasure of acting in a short film written and directed by Cameron Nelson called “Hozomeen”. Cameron is a very talented filmmaker (not to mention a very generous human being) and I look forward very much to working with him in the future. Keep an eye on www.rambosrainbos.com for more information.
I’ll be playing a few north Texas festivals this spring. The 35 Conferette in Denton, Prairie Fest and Arts Goggle in Fort Worth and the Deep Ellum Arts Festival in Dallas. Expect to hear some new songs
As promised here is the video by Frank Mosley and Jenny Deering. It was filmed on location in White Sands New Mexico in the spring of 2009. Many thanks for all of their efforts. Enjoy!
Out of print songs!
I’ve been digging through the old recordings…mainly looking for some tracks that are now out-of-print to share with you. I found some nice ones that I will be posting on the discography page as well. Enjoy!
Forget Me Not. Originally released in 2001 on the EP “Out on a Limb”
Ballad of a Self Fulfilling Prophecy. This one was on a live CD that I put together in 2003 called “A Night Like Real Life”.
Ballad of a Self Fulfilling Prophecy by clintnio
These two were on an EP I made in 2004 title “Off the Band Wagon/Into the Bargain Bin”. It’s interesting hearing the electronic bits.
Where I Return:
Best Defense Live 07-17-2004 at Black Dog Tavern (the old downtown location!):
Best Defense Live 7-17-04 by clintnio
And finally, from a collection of home recording that I put together in 2005 titled “Peicemeal Express” is a track called “Space Flight of the Nazarene.” I made this one up one the fly…and I’m a bit proud that the whole thing is one take and one track
What I’ve been up to…
During the month of October I had the good fortune of starring in a play at Hip Pocket Theater titled ‘On the Origins of the Specifics: The Musical’ by John Moore and Joe Rogers. I played “The Possum”. My possum wife “Muffin” (Kristi Ramos Toler) and I had the task of narrating a story that covers the history of the universe from the big bang to the fall of mankind. I also sang a lovely song about the extinction of the dinosaurs. What a ride it was! I know it will be available on DVD sometime soon. I’ll let you know when it is. I miss all these guys:
Taking a break…
I’m taking a little break right now in order to finish the new album. If you would like to purchase “The Sound of Dead Horses Beaten Against Cold Shoulders” you may for the time being order a copy though www.goodrecords.com. See you soon.

Good Night and Good Morning Bio:While residing in rural Illinois, Good Night & Good Morning has recorded and released two EPs and have enjoyed many weeks on tour to promote them. These quiet songs signify subtlety and reservation, complimented with video projections when performed live. The intent of their third release, an untitled five-song ep, was to construct an atmosphere of delicacy and wistfulness that is grounded by refined instrumentation. Vibraphone, trumpet and harp accompany cohesive yet ephemeral songwriting. In many ways this collection of songs marked artists in transition. After its May 2009 release and several weeks of performances in its support, the two relocated to Chicago. Throughout months of new thoughts and collaborations with other artists, GN&GM has continued to tour and record, releasing short-run albums featuring these experiments. Good Night & Good Morning addresses the same concerns of atmosphere and subtlety from new perspectives and a new home, finding themselves in transition as they were a year ago.”
